Above & Beyond Children's Museum Names New Director

SHEBOYGAN - Above & Beyond Children's Museum has announced the appointment of Emily Rendall-Araujo as executive director.

In her role, Rendall-Araujo will work with a passionate team of associates, board members and volunteers to manage museum fundraising, grant writing, marketing, human resources, operations and strategic planning.

As the executive director, she will engage the community to support museum initiatives and build creative educational partnerships in accordance with the museum’s mission.

“Emily is a dynamic individual with an outward desire to make an impact on the community through building relationships and developing inspiring programming, exhibits and events,” said Lynda Torke, board president of Above & Beyond Children’s Museum, in a press release. “We are pleased to harness her energy and enthusiasm in support of the children’s museum.”

Rendall-Araujo recently served as the director of community development for The United Way of Sheboygan County where she led the organization’s marketing, communications, fundraising and stewardship. Rendall-Araujo joined The United Way in December 2013.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for Emily to use her leadership skills and energy to continue her support of our community,” said Tom Malmstadt, director of the United Way of Sheboygan County, in a press release. “Emily was invaluable to The United Way and we are pleased her talents will continue to benefit Sheboygan.”

Rendall-Araujo’s first day at Above & Beyond Children’s Museum will be Sept. 20 and she will host the museum’s annual fundraiser, Tastefully Childish, from 6 to 9 p.m. on Sept. 30. She will continue to serve The United Way through its annual Day of Caring initiative on Sept. 14.


Prior to joining The United Way, Rendall-Araujo served as the alumni and community engagement officer and as assistant director of alumni relations at Lakeland College (now University). Rendall-Araujo received both a Bachelor of Arts in business management and Masters of Business Administration from Lakeland, graduating Magna cum Laude.

Community organizations Rendall-Araujo serves include Coastal Young Professionals Network, Young Nonprofit Professionals Network and Early Bird Rotary. She is a native of the area, formerly from New Holstein and currently residing in Glenbeulah with her husband and young son. She enjoys singing with Sheboygan Symphony Chorus, home renovation projects, spending time at Camp Anokijig and volunteering at church.

Above & Beyond Children's Museum's of Sheboygan County is a 501 C 3 community funded, visitor supported nonprofit organization. The museum is located at 902 N. 8th St. in Sheboygan.
