Melitta S. and Joan M. Pick Charitable Trust Donates Funds Supporting Renovation of Toddler Room
NEW EXHIBIT AT ABOVE & BEYOND CHILDREN’S MUSEUM CREATES A PLAYFUL, INTERACTIVE CELEBRATION OF WISCONSIN’S FARMING CULTUREThe Toddler Room at Above & Beyond Children's Museum is set to transform to the Melitta S. and Joan M. Pick Toddler Barnyard. The new exhibit on the second floor will feature a multi-level barn play-structure and slide, toys that encourage the development of children ages 0-4 in the areas of gross motor, fine motor, and cognitive skills. The project is made possible with the financial support of Melitta S and Joan M Pick Charitable Trust, a charitable organization based in Milwaukee, Wis., focused on gifts, grants, or loans to other organizations. Project partners include local businesses Custom Built Inc. and Quasius Construction.

The museum comes to life as 150 guests delight in interactive exhibits, hands-on activities and festive music while attendees explore experiential food and beverage stations hosted by local restaurants, wineries and breweries. Food pairings are curated by area chefs featuring childhood food favorites with a mature culinary twist.

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (August 7, 2018) – The Above & Beyond Children's Museum enlists three new members to the Board of Directors and honors board member Paul Mentink. Joining the board of directors are Stacy Hetherington, SPHR, Sr. Manager, Human Resources - New Product Development and Business Teams at Kohler Co., Chris Hahn, Director of Marketing - Hospitality & Real Estate at Kohler Co. and Mike Tietjen, Director of Accounts and Partner at Dynamic. Hetherington, Hahn and Tietjen join a team of 12 board members that help support the museum in outreach, fundraising, volunteering, and programming with Executive Director Emily Rendall-Araujo.

The Festival Foods Fresh Market Exhibit – an interactive educational marketplace - is set to open at Above & Beyond Children's Museum. The open air marketplace concept harkens back to the way people shopped for groceries in earlier times and the importance of supporting and interacting with local, sustainable food systems. Each of the market stands displays local food and products including dairy, meats, fruits, vegetables, and honey and flowers. The new interactive exhibit has been seamlessly incorporated into the historic Port of Sheboygan located on the third floor of the museum which includes an old-world classroom, ship, lighthouse and vintage fire truck.
